Por invitación, la directora hace una película durante la cuarentena sobre su experiencia en el encierro. Resulta un film ensayo sobre hacer films y la vida como acto creativo.
Frente al desafío de hacer una película a solas, la directora busca imágenes en su memoria – y archivo -, para recordar a sí misma la dirección en la que andar. Así vemos a su bisabuela en San Pedro en Roma en un viejo 8mm film de familia, e imágenes de las tierras zapatistas en Chiapas (México) donde ha vivido.
“Cómo filmar a las flores” es un film ensayo en clave personal, donde la creación artística y la expresión de una misma, cómo las animaciones en stop-motion o la danza liberadora, se convierten en formas de superar tiempos difíciles.
How to shoot flowers

During quarantine, the director has been invited to make a film about her lockdown experience. The result is an essay film about filmmaking and life as a creative act.
Facing the challenge of making a film on her own, the director draws images from her memory —and archive—, to remind herself which way to move. This is why we see an old 8 mm film shot in San Peter (Rome, Italy) of her great-grandmother, and images from the Zapatista land in Chiapas (Mexico), where she lived.
“How to shoot flowers” is a personal essay film, where artistic creation and expression, such as the stop-motion animation or the liberating dance, become the medium to overcome a difficult time.
